All visitors are required to apply a visa when visiting Republic of China (Taiwan) except for nationals from the following listed countries. Read more to find out more information.
A visa is needed when visiting the Republic of China (Taiwan) unless:
You are a citizen of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel (starting from August. 11. 2011), Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K, U.S.A, and Vatican City State.
Citizens of the above countries are permitted to stay in Taiwan for a duration of up to 90 days.
Citizens of the following countries are also eligible for the visa exemption program which permits a stay of up to 30 days: Australia, Canada, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore.
Visa holders of Canada, USA, Shengen States, UK, Japan, New Zealand and Australia as well as citizens of India, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam can stay in Taiwan for up to 30 days without applying for visa. However, they are required to apply online for an “Authorization Certificate” and present it upon checking-in for their flight.
